" Amarcord is the look into the world of my memory," Fellini recounted in his autobiography I, Fellini. The film centers on Titta Biondi (Bruno Zanin), a young man with a definite resemblance to the director played by an amateur actor who had been a fisherman before being cast in the film. Italian for "I remember," Federico Fellini's Amarcord (1973) is the director's thinly veiled remembrance of his own childhood growing up in the small, insular village of Rimini, a resort town on the Adriatic.
